Careers That Travel
One way to travel more is by having a job that includes travel.
There are so many options and types of jobs that work all over the world, the options are nearly endless. If you want to combine your love of travel with your next career choice, check out the list below for a potential match.
This post is all about careers that travel.
1)Travel Nurse
Traveling is in this profession’s name so you know you are going to be moving around a lot. As a traveling nurse you travel to different locations that need nurses.
Your contract can be anywhere from 2-26 weeks in length and you can even take some time off after your contract expires to travel more intently around your new location.
2)Pilot/Flight Attendant
This one is also kind of a given that you will be traveling. Your job is literally to fly from place to place on airplanes.
Depending on the airline you work for, you may also get accommodation during your off days which makes exploring the destination more cost effective.
3)English Teacher
English language teachers are in high demand as many countries require children to learn the English language.
Usually these teachers are referred to as ESL (English as a second language) teachers. They are especially in high demand in countries in Asia.
4)Travel Agent
While most of your job is making travel arrangements for other people, you will also need to do your own traveling to improve your knowledge of the subject.
5)Au Pair
This is a nanny that lives abroad usually helping to teach the children in their care another language (usually English).
6)Freelance Photographer
You can do any kind of photography in this profession, but being interested in traveling the world you probably want to be a travel photographer.
7)Tour Guide
Like being a travel agent, you need knowledge on the area/site (s) that you are touring.
You can either be a city/site tour guide or you can be a specialized outdoor adventure guide.
8)Consultant
A consultant is brought in on a temporary basis to help the company implement better business strategies.
You could be requested to assist companies all over the world and you can take time off in between contracts to travel.
9)Cruise Ship Worker
There are lots of different jobs you can do on a cruise ship. You can work in the kitchen, you can work on the pool deck, you can work at the performances that are put on the cruise, the options are essentially endless.
As a worker on the cruise ship, on your days off you can explore wherever your ship is docked on that day.
10)Translator/Interpreter
If you are multi-lingual, you can make a fantastic translator/interpreter.
These positions are required in a variety of professions all over the world.
11)Diving Instructor
Do you have a passion for diving? You can become an instructor which often requires you to live in a tropical climate where diving is popular.
12)Truck Driver
Not the most glamorous job, but a good way to see a lot of the world.
13)Freelance Writer
If you like to write but aren’t sure what to write about, a freelance writing career might be good for you. Companies will hire you to create written content for their platforms.
Writers are needed for every type of subject so the sky is the limit.
14)Travel Blogger
My personal favorite (for obvious reasons lol) is a travel blogger.
You travel the world and write about it on your blog. You make money through advertisements, affiliate links, sponsored content and/or your own products.
